Sheet shares the same problems of many historic villages in England in dealing with modern traffic: narrow roads, lack of parking, and multiple activities centred around the village green.  Of course, whilst the advantages of village life far outweigh the disadvantages, it has meant that in the past 13 years the Council has concentrated on making the centre of the village safer for pedestrians and motorists alike by redesigning junctions, erecting Village Gates, and controlling the size of commercial vehicles entering the village.  With the main problems tackled, more recently we have invested in a series of speed indicators on London Rd and Pulens Lane in an attempt to slow traffic on these busy through roads.  The Council has worked closely with Hampshire Highways, and SDNP to achieve these improvements.  More needs to be done. Future work is necessary on the road surface of Mill Lane, and solutions found to the perennial issue of parking in the centre of a popular village

Auto Speed Watch Cameras – London Road and Pulens Lane

Thanks to the funding we have received from East Hampshire District Council, Sheet Parish Council will shortly be installing Auto speed watch cameras on both the London Road and Pulens Lane with the aim of reducing speed on the busiest roads through the parish.
